Kent Kurrus directs Menlo-Atherton’s award-winning music program, which consists of two jazz bands, a concert band, and a full orchestra.
Mr. Kurrus has been a music educator for 38 years, which includes 15 years of college teaching and 23 years teaching in public and private K-12 schools. He received his Bachelor of Music Education in 1982 from the University of Puget Sound and his Master in Conducting from Northwestern University in 1987, where he studied with John Paynter and Victor Rampolski.
Mr. Kurrus is in active demand as a guest conductor and clinician throughout the Northwestern United States. He is also an active member of MENC, CBDA, NAJE and WASBE.
